Message from the Chair of the Tenants' Committee

Message from the Chair of the Tenants' Committee

Season's greetings to all residents of Karibu. I am delighted to share that we have enjoyed an exceptionally productive and successful eight months since our merger in early April 2024.

On 2nd November 2024, we organised a highly successful engagement day for all our customers. 37 residents dedicated their Saturday to interact with our officers at the University of West London campus. This event provided an opportunity to learn about the vision and mission of Karibu and to share their experiences with our services to date.

During this gathering, we introduced the proposed Service Plans and Standards for Karibu tenants, following extensive consultations with customers, alongside various engagement options. I was heartened to see that every discussion underscored the importance of the tenant voice—a principle we are committed to upholding to hold Karibu accountable and ensure that necessary improvements are implemented for the benefit of residents.

You should have received information about opportunities for resident involvement and engagement. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of these avenues to engage and help hold Karibu accountable.

If you wish to discuss any of the available engagement opportunities, please feel free to contact the office.

Here are several options to consider:

  • Tenant Committee
  • Scrutiny Panel
  • Estate Champion
  • Procurement Panel
  • Virtual Panel

Thank you, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the upcoming year, 2025.

Leroy McKenzie – Chair of Tenant Committee
