Board Chairperson

Dave Baptiste

Dave Baptiste became Board Chairperson of Karibu Community Homes on 1st April 2024.

Dave Baptiste

Previously, he was board chairperson of Westway Housing Association for 3 years before it's merger with Inquilab Housing Association.

Dave was Head of Housing Development for the London Borough of Ealing since 2008 and has over 35 years experience working in social housing which includes being a founder member and chair of previous housing associations. He has a good understanding of financial and policy framework for investment housing and regeneration by local authorities, regulated partners and the private sector. He is committed to the housing sector through his professional career and voluntary activities.

Jack Stephen

Jack Stephen

With over 30 years of senior executive experience in social housing and two decades as a chartered accountant, Jack previously held key roles at Thames Valley Housing Group, including Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director. Since retiring in 2015, his passion for the sector has led to Non-Executive and Committee roles with Barnet Homes Group, First Affordable Housing, Spear Housing, Notting Hill Genesis Treasury Committee, and the National Housing Federation’s Audit and Risk Committee.

Somayeh Tosi

Somayeh Tosi

Somayeh Tosi is a seasoned business leader and legal Assistant with extensive experience in health, social care, and social housing. She brings valuable expertise from both public and private sectors, offering strategic analysis, problem-solving, and consultancy to support managers, senior leaders, and care agencies. Skilled in compliance, legislation, and CQC inspections, Somayeh is committed to enhancing processes and achieving better social care outcomes in complex stakeholder environments.

Wasiu Fadahunsi

Wasiu Fadahunsi

Wasiu is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and an Associate of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (AMCT) with experience in Management, Financial and Project Accounting. He has a strong treasury background in a number of industries, including Manufacturing, Financial Services, Real Estate and Housing Associations, and has worked across many organisations from Multinational companies to SMEs. Wasiu has worked to deliver strategic growth and improvements in financial and operating performance, using strengths in strategic planning, forecasting, proactive financial advice, driving change, treasury control, procurement delivery, raising finance, team leadership, stakeholder and risk management.

Debra Redhead-Allen

Debra Redhead-Allen

Debra Redhead-Allen is an MBA graduate, an Associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, with over 20 years of experience in the private and public sector. She is currently the capital accountant at the Greater London Authority and is responsible for the financial management of their strategic capital projects. For more than 10 years, Debra worked in the housing sector in a range of organisations including local councils and executive non-departmental public bodies.

Darren Alexander

Darren Alexander

Darren Alexander is an Assistant Director of Housing Demand, for Havering Council since 2019 and has over 15 years’ experience in Local Authority specifically within the Housing and Homelessness Service and Strategy and Housing Development. Working in local authority has aided his personal and professional career development spanning over 15 years from a temporary accommodation administration officer on an agency contract to a permanent assistant director.

Peta Caine

Peta Caine

Peta has been in the housing sector for over 32 years working in operations and business development. Her experience includes leading Ealing Council’s Landlord Services and, more recently, as Assistant Director of Property Services for Kensington and Chelsea. A specialist in residential property and regeneration, Peta has extensive experience within both the commercial and social housing sectors, developing and delivering business strategy and transformation programmes. Peta is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Samuel Aligbe

Samuel Aligbe

Samuel Aligbe is a senior professional in development and regeneration with extensive experience in housing associations, private consultancy, and local authorities. He specialises in supporting local authorities in re-entering housebuilding, leading large-scale housing regeneration projects delivered directly or via wholly owned subsidiaries, and excels in unlocking complex opportunities, risk management, and programme turnaround. A Chartered Surveyor and trained economist, Samuel holds degrees from the Universities of London, Reading, and Cambridge. He also directs Trans Global Consulting and Investment Ltd, providing advisory and investment services in economic development, housing, and urban development across West and East Africa.

Katie Wilmot

Katie Wilmot

Katie, a resident and board member at Karibu, is a Chartered Architect with 15 years of experience in the creative and construction industries. Her expertise spans multiple sectors, including master planning, social and private housing, commercial, mixed-use developments, and education, covering everything from concept design and planning to technical design and on-site contract administration. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Katie balances her time between professional practice and education. She previously served on the Council of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and has contributed to various committees and working groups, including Architects for Change, RIBA’s Equality and Diversity Forum.

Leroy McKenzie

Leroy McKenzie, a resident at Karibu, is a freelance counsellor and serves as the Chair of the Tenants’ Committee.

Bianca White-Williams

Bianca is a resident and an active member of the Tenants' Committee. With a strong background in the public services, she has a passion for making a positive impact on individuals. As a Tenant representative with Karibu, Bianca is dedicated to ensuring that tenants have a voice and are supported in their housing needs.
