- Holds staff accountable by testing whether services are efficient, value for money, and tenant-focused.
- Produces formal reports and recommendations for improvement to the Board and Executive Team.
- Current/Recent Work:
- Completed a review of responsive repairs, leading to practical recommendations.
- Planning a review of communications, with a focus on improving clarity, consistency, and accessibility of messages to tenants.
- Impact: Provides evidence-based insights that directly influence policy and service delivery.

- Provides a tenant perspective on complaints that have been escalated to the Housing Ombudsman.
- Reviews how Karibu handled the issue, whether the response was fair, and where improvements can be made.
- Advises on service lessons to ensure better complaint management and resolution in future cases.

- Reviewed contracts to ensure they deliver value for money while also benefiting residents and communities.
- Status: Currently task-complete, but may be re-activated if new procurement projects require tenant oversight.

Community Champions
- Membership: Volunteers from estates and neighbourhoods who want to play an active role in community wellbeing.
- Purpose & Role:
- Serve as the “eyes and ears” on estates, working alongside Housing Officers.
- Help monitor and report issues with estate services (cleaning, grounds maintenance, communal repairs).
- Play a role in tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) by reporting concerns early and supporting community safety initiatives.
- Strengthen neighbourhood networks, encouraging resident pride and responsibility.
- Impact: Helps Karibu maintain high standards in estates while fostering stronger, safer, and more connected communities.
