About us
Who we are
This page explains who we are, what we do, and where we operate.

Who We Are
We are Karibu Community Homes—a housing association that provides safe, affordable homes for people across London and the South West. Karibu means “Welcome” in Swahili, and that’s what we aim to offer: a warm, supportive place to live.
Karibu was created in April 2024, when Inquilab and Westway Housing Associations joined together. By merging, we became stronger and better able to serve our residents. Today, we are proud to be the largest Black and Minority Ethnic-led housing provider in the UK.
What We Do
We provide nearly 1,900 homes to over 5,000 residents. Our work includes:
- Managing homes: making sure they are safe, clean, and well looked after.
- Carrying out repairs and upgrades: improving kitchens, bathrooms, windows, and heating systems.
- Supporting residents: listening to your needs and helping you feel part of your community.
- Making homes more energy-efficient: helping reduce bills and protect the environment.
- Working with communities: hosting community events, satisfaction surveys, and engagement panels so residents can help improve our services.
We’re not just a landlord, we’re here to help people feel safe, supported, and heard.
