Celebrating Pride 2026: Belonging, Visibility and Pride in Every Home

As we mark Pride Month this June, we come together to celebrate the strength, diversity and resilience of LGBTQ+ communities across the UK and within our own neighbourhoods.
Pride 2026 is a moment to reflect not only on how far we have come, but also on the continued importance of visibility, allyship and meaningful inclusion. At Karibu Community Homes, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and proud of who they are—wherever they call home.
Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are at the heart of everything we do. We know that a truly inclusive community does not happen by chance—it is built through intention, accountability and continuous learning.
We are committed to:
- Creating homes and communities where difference is respected and celebrated
- Ensuring fair and equitable access to housing and services for all
- Challenging discrimination and promoting understanding across our communities
- Listening to and amplifying the voices of our diverse residents
Pride Month is one of the many ways we demonstrate this commitment, but our focus on EDI is year-round.
Creating safe, inclusive spaces
For many LGBTQ+ people, feeling safe and accepted at home cannot be taken for granted. We recognise the unique challenges that individuals may face and remain dedicated to providing secure and supportive environments for all residents.
Our policies and services are designed to:
- Promote fairness and non-discrimination
- Offer confidential support where it is needed
- Ensure residents feel heard, protected and valued
If any resident experiences discrimination or feels unsafe, we are here to listen and take action.
Celebrating visibility and community
Visibility matters. Pride Month reminds us that LGBTQ+ people are part of every community, every workplace and every home.
At Karibu, we celebrate:
- The diverse identities and lived experiences of our residents
- The importance of community, connection and shared understanding
- The power of storytelling in building empathy and belonging
We encourage residents and colleagues alike to share, listen and learn from one another—because stronger communities are built on mutual respect.
Pride as a time for reflection and action
Pride is both a celebration and a call to action. It is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made, while recognising that there is still work to do to achieve full equality.
We will continue to:
- Champion inclusion across our services and workplaces
- Provide learning opportunities that build awareness and understanding
- Strengthen partnerships that support LGBTQ+ communities
Pride in every home
At Karibu, we believe that everyone should feel a sense of pride and belonging in their home and community.
This Pride Month, we stand with LGBTQ+ communities and reaffirm our commitment to building places where:
- People feel safe to be themselves
- Diversity is embraced
- Everyone belongs
Together, we can continue to create communities where everyone is seen, heard and valued.
Happy Pride Month 2026!
