Ealing Carers Partnership: New Year Activities & Support for Local Carers

As we step into 2026, our trusted partner Ealing Carers Partnership has launched a vibrant programme of activities, workshops and support opportunities designed to help unpaid carers feel connected, supported and empowered throughout the year.

From drop‑in community spaces to creative workshops, financial guidance and wellbeing sessions, there is something for every carer in Ealing—whether you’re looking to meet others, learn new skills or simply take a moment for yourself.

New Weekly Drop‑In Space at The Dig, Hanwell

Thanks to new lottery funding, carers can now visit The Dig in Hanwell every Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Tuesdays offer a quiet space to talk, explore the beautiful garden, or learn more about available services.
  • Wednesdays host group activities and social sessions, with more attendees and structured opportunities to connect.

The much‑loved Urban Trailblazer activities will also return this spring.

Online & In‑Person Groups to Stay Connected

Ealing Carers Partnership continues to offer a range of peer support opportunities, including:

Monday Online Carer Group

A safe and welcoming online space where carers share experiences and feel understood by others living similar journeys.

Carer Cafés Across the Borough

Drop‑in sessions where carers can enjoy conversation, companionship and support in person.

Online Poetry Workshops

Led by an experienced carer and facilitator, these creative sessions are designed for all levels—no experience needed. Carers consistently describe improved well‑being after attending. Registration is open and new participants are welcome.

Digital Inclusion: Helping Older Carers Get Online

In partnership with Age UK Ealing, carers and older residents can join free 6‑week digital skills courses, available for both complete beginners and improvers. Sessions run at community venues including:

  • Greenford Community Centre
  • Perivale Hive Library
  • Ealing Central Library
  • Acton Library
  • Rectory Park Community Centre

These classes help older adults build confidence with technology, stay connected and safely navigate the digital world.

Carer Money Matters: Financial Support for Carers

Many carers face financial hardship due to reduced working hours or leaving employment to care for loved ones. Carer Money Matters offers practical financial guidance and tailored support across the UK to help carers access the information and benefits they are entitled to.

Focus On: Cultivate London

Ealing Carers Partnership works closely with Cultivate London, a social enterprise dedicated to improving community wellbeing through nature and horticulture.

  • Their headquarters are in Acton
  • Their flagship garden is in Isleworth
  • They run 10+ community green sites across West London
  • They support education, health and community cohesion through green spaces and volunteer opportunities

Carers can enjoy sessions at The Dig thanks to this partnership—and volunteering opportunities are also available.

Additional Activities from Carers Hub Ealing

Carers Hub Ealing, based at Sycamore Lodge, continues to offer weekly wellbeing activities:

  • Massage & acupressure (Mondays, 10am–4pm)
  • Carer Coffee Morning (Tuesdays, 11.30am–1.30pm)
