Important Leadership Update from Chair of the Board, Dave Baptiste
After 30 years of dedicated service as Chief Executive, first at Westway Housing Association and latterly at Karibu Community Homes, Ricardo (Ricky) Scipio will retire from his role on 30 September 2026.
Throughout his tenure, Ricky has played a pivotal role in strengthening and developing the organisation. His achievements include leading the successful merger that created Karibu Community Homes and overseeing significant improvements in performance, governance and customer outcomes.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our sincere thanks to Ricky for his outstanding leadership, commitment and dedication over many years of service. His contribution has helped shape the organisation we are today, and we wish him every success and happiness in his retirement.
I am also pleased to announce that Sandra Skeete will join Karibu Community Homes on 14 September 2026 and will succeed Ricky as Interim Chief Executive upon his retirement on 30 September 2026.
Sandra brings extensive executive leadership experience within the housing sector, including serving as Chief Executive of Octavia Housing Association. She joins Karibu at an exciting stage in our development and will build on the strong foundations established over recent years.
The Board remains fully committed to ensuring a smooth and effective leadership transition. Our priorities remain unchanged: delivering excellent services to our customers, maintaining a strong and financially resilient organisation, and continuing to build a sustainable future for Karibu Community Homes.
We greatly value the strong relationships we have with our strategic partners and stakeholders and look forward to continuing our work together in the months and years ahead. We will also take the opportunity to introduce Sandra to key partners and stakeholders in due course.
