Say No to Anti-Social Behaviour and Hate Crime

Say No to Anti-Social Behaviour and Hate Crime

At Karibu, we are committed to creating safe, welcoming and inclusive communities where everyone feels respected and valued.

As part of ASB Awareness Week (Monday 29 June – Friday 3 July), we’re encouraging everyone to come together to raise awareness and take a stand against anti-social behaviour (ASB) and hate crime.

These behaviours have no place in our neighbourhoods — and together, we can make a positive difference.

What do we mean by ASB and hate crime?

  • Anti-social behaviour (ASB) includes actions that cause nuisance, distress or harm to others, such as excessive noise, vandalism or intimidation.
  • Hate crime is any incident motivated by prejudice or hostility towards someone’s race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Both can have a serious impact on individuals and communities, affecting wellbeing and quality of life.

Working together for safer communities

We all have a role to play in building respectful, supportive neighbourhoods. ASB Awareness Week is a great opportunity to reflect on how we can support one another and keep our communities safe.

Karibu is working closely with residents, partners and local agencies to:

  • Respond promptly to reports of ASB and hate incidents
  • Support those affected
  • Take action where needed
  • Raise awareness and help prevent issues

Promoting community cohesion

Strong communities are built on respect, understanding and positive relationships. We encourage residents to:

  • Treat neighbours with kindness and respect
  • Celebrate the diversity in our communities
  • Try to resolve issues calmly and peacefully where possible
  • Get involved in local activities and events

Speak up — we’re here to help

If you experience or witness anti-social behaviour or hate crime, please report it. Your voice matters, and speaking up helps us take action and provide the right support.
